Open driving provides cover for other drivers to use your vehicle if they meet the following requirements:

The Comprehensive package includes coverage for damage (accidental or malicious) to your own car, and we’ll decide whether to repair or replace your car, using genuine Volvo Original Equipment parts, or reimburse you for the loss.
We will pay emergency treatment fees as set out in the Road Traffic Act, following an accident involving any vehicle for we which we provide cover.
If your car keys are lost or stolen and we are satisfied that there is an increased risk to the security of your vehicle, we will pay the cost of replacing the following up to a limit of €850:

For damage to radio-receiving / transmitting equipment, audio equipment or electronic navigation equipment permanently fixed to the vehicle, cover is included up to:

In the most serious situations, you want to be sure you have the best cover in place. That is why we will cover the policyholder for death and certain disabilities following an accident involving the insured car up to €6,500.
Our personal accident cover will pay the policyholder or their legal representative €6,500 if the policyholder is accidentally injured while travelling in or getting into or out of the insured vehicle and within three months this injury alone results in death, permanent loss of sight in one or both eyes, or loss of one or more limbs. The most we will pay in any one period of insurance is €6,500.
We will not pay this benefit for any injury or death resulting from suicide or attempted suicide or anyone who is convicted for driving while under the influence of drink or drugs at the time of the accident.
Our car insurance includes the minimum legal cover to drive in any EU country or other countries meeting the EU Commission insurance requirements. For up to 93 days per insurance period, we’ll automatically extend your full policy cover (as shown in your schedule) in these countries. For longer coverage or travel to additional countries, please contact us before your trip.

Once you have earned 4 or more years of No Claims Bonus, you can pay an extra premium to protect it. With Full No Claims Discount (NCD) Protection, your NCD remains intact as long as you have no more than one fault claim during any one insurance period. If two or more claims occur in that period, Step-Back Protection will apply (see details below).
Please note that while you can protect your No Claims Bonus, your premium may still be impacted by other claims we pay.
Our 24-hour breakdown cover offers roadside assistance, including home start, 365 days a year. It includes help for:
We will arrange and pay for roadside repair or towing to the nearest appropriate garage. If you are at more than 2 miles from home, we also pay up to €150 for hotel expenses, a replacement car (48h) or costs for your journey back home.
* Please note that assistance is limited to three call-outs per year.
If your vehicle is stolen and not recovered within 24 hours, we will provide a hire car for up to 10 days or until your vehicle is found, whichever comes first.
Driving other cars is a benefit which allows you (the policyholder) to drive any private car you don’t own or haven’t hired, with the owner’s consent.
Please note this cover is excluded for certain occupations, and you must hold a full EU license.

Our policy covers local authority fire brigade charges up to €2,200 for extinguishing a fire in your car or using cutting equipment to safely remove the driver or passengers.
Third-party liability cover provides the minimum protection required by law. With our Policy, you’re per standard covered for up to €30 million in material damage to others’ property and have unlimited coverage for other's personal injuries resulting from an insured event.
If within 12 months of having bought a vehicle as new, your car is severely damaged or stolen, we will replace it per standard with a new car of the same make and model.

If your car is damaged due to fire or (attempted) theft, please notify us right away and wait for our approval before arranging any repairs. As standard our policy includes coverage for fire and theft-related damage, and we’ll decide whether to repair or replace your car, using genuine Volvo Original Equipment parts, or reimburse you for the loss.
We will cover reasonable costs to protect and transport your car to the nearest repairer if it's undriveable due to an insured event. Storage fees are covered up to €300, and we will also cover delivery of your car back to you after repairs, without exceeding however the reasonable cost of transporting it to your address as listed in your insurance schedule.
We will cover medical expenses up to €135 per person injured in an accident involving your car, provided no other motor insurance covers these costs.
If your Volvo is repairable, you will be provided with another Volvo, subject to availability, for up to 10 days, while yours is being repaired by one of our recommended repairers.
If your car cannot be driven after an accident covered by this policy, we will contribute up to €65 for the driver, or €135 for all passengers, toward necessary overnight hotel expenses.
Get peace of mind with our windscreen coverage. If you go to one of our recommended repairers, we will pay the full cost of repairing or replacing (less the excess) damaged or broken glass in your vehicle's windscreen or windows, provided there is no other loss or damage. Plus, claims for windscreen damage won’t affect your No Claims Bonus.
